TODAY'S BROTHERS

  • Br. Henry Fulmer, OFM, on community: "One of the greatest privileges of being a Franciscan brother is the idea that we are all striving to serve God in different ways, by our living and praying together with a common vision and purpose. Although, I may not be a priest, I don’t see myself any different than my fellow brothers who are, nor do my fellow brothers see me that way. I see the habit as a sign of our common life and commitment to each other as Franciscans."

  • Br. Sean Sammon, FMS, Ph.D., is a Scholar-in-Residence at Marist College and novice director for his province. He has worked with undergraduate students in Marist College’s emerging leaders program, and in counseling, faith development and human resources. An author of several books and articles examining the interface of faith and science, he holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Fordham University.

  • Brother Javier Hansen, FSC, is a Christian Brother (Lasallian), and a high school teacher in Texas. In 2018, he represented U.S. young adults at a pre-Synod meeting in Rome and later said, "I hope young people take ownership of their faith. What are you going to do as an individual to take ownership?"
